Transcript: Container Plants

With the weather warming up, it doesn't mean the planting season is over. While we plant bare root plants in the winter, container-grown plants can be planted virtually any month of the year. During the long, stressful days of summer that are coming, we want to make sure to give them a little extra water and help them get established.

They come in a container with a nice complete root system ready to go. You just want to water them around the area of the plant every few days to keep them well moistened so that they don't dry out. You can plant them now and they'll do great for you all through the summer.

Remember to plant them at about the same depth that they were growing, mulch them in well, and don't forget that water every few days. Don't keep them soggy wet, just a good drink to keep them going and you can have a nice established landscape, even in the warm season.

With your common sense for warm season container planting, I'm Skip Richter.
